Outlook Live (Student Email) Sign Up Procedure

Email for student use is now available at Cumberland Regional High Schoool. The student email platform is based on Microsoft's Live@Edu platform. With this account you will also have the ability to store files on your SkyDrive, which is a 25GB storage space connected to your account. It is basically like your H drive but on the web. Note that both are NOT the same. If you upload a file to your SkyDrive it does NOT appear in your school H drive, but it can be accessed at home or anywhere else you can get to the Internet.  In this way, you can transfer files when needed.

Currently there are two types of accounts, R3 (old version) and R4 (new version). The two account types can be distinguished by the background color that appears when logged on; R3 is blue and R4 is yellow. Microsoft is currently upgrading all accounts to the new R4 version. All 9th grade student accounts have been created with the R4 version. This means that all 9th grade users will want to use the R4 procedure to sign on. All other grade level accounts may or may not be upgraded. The only difference between the two versions, in regard to signing up for the first time, is that the procedure for signing up requires more information. Please review both R3 and R4 documents so that you will be familiar with the procedure.
