Mission
Statement
The 2003-2004
Cumberland Regional High School FBLA Chapter is going to work for the
recruitment of new members as well as participation of the old.
The officers will make themselves available to all members,as well as staff and
administrators who may have questions or concerns.
We will plan activities that bring us in contact with our other
local and buddy chapters, as well as middle level chapters.
We will broaden our involvement in community service projects in
order to reach members and network with the local community.
Communications
A.
To establish a quarterly newsletter to be distributed to all members,
administrators, faculty, and students in Cumberland Regional High
School.
B.
To submit articles and photographs to our local and school newspapers.
C.
To submit Bimonthly Activity Reports and news articles with photographs
to the state office for publication in the state newsletters.
D.
To encourage enthusiasm and spirit in our local and middle level chapters.
E.
To keep in contact with other FBLA chapters in our state as well as
other states.
Public
Relations
A.
To establish February 2, 2004 as Job Shadowing Day.
B.
To meet with local businesses in our community to encourage them
to actively participate in and support FBLA events and to become
members of PBL.
C.
To use the local press to advertise upcoming local chapter events.
D.
To develop open relationships with government officials.
E.
To hold an annual FBLA Information Night in order to promote the
purpose and mission our organization and to increase
school/community awareness.
Membership
Recruitment and Enhancement
A.
To meet our equalization and expansion goals for the 2003-2004 school
year.
B.
To continue participation in national programs and scholarships such as
The Stock Market Game and Otis Spunkmeyer.
C.
To encourage participation in the Presidential Classroom.
D.
To continue participation in the "Go for the Gold" program.
E.
To continue participation in the "Go for the Silver" program.
F.
To encourage participation in "Membership Madness".
Leadership
Development and Conferences
A.
To encourage members to participate in competitive events and to run
for state offices.
B.
To attend the National Fall Leadership Conference in Baltimore,
Maryland.
C.
To train and work with all competitors in their events for the regional
state and/or national competitions.
D.
To send students/competitors to the National Fall Leadership
Conference in Denver, Colorado.
E.
To continue our Cumberland Regional High School- FBLA Scholarship
fund.
G.
To develop social events with other local and middle level chapters.
Community
Service
A.
To continue raising money for the March of Dimes, with our local
chapter being goal being $500.00
B.
To have a March of Dimes representitive come and speak to our
chapter.
C.
To paticipate in the monthly community service projects. (Salvation
Army, Habitat for Humanity, etc.)
Fundraising
A.
To continue the Ciderella Cheesecake sale in which the proceeds will
be used to benefit FBLA activities.
B.
To continue the Otis Spunkmeyer Muffin sale in which the proceeds will
be used to benefit FBLA activities.
C.
To continue the Home interior Candle sale in which the proceeds will be
used to benifit FBLA activities.
D.
To develp new and creative ideas in which we can raise money for our
local chapter.
Technological
Development
A.
To maintain a web-page for our local chapter.
B.
To promote communication with FBLA members from other chapters via
the Internet.
