Accessing
the Home Access Center:
The Home Access Center can be viewed from any
web browsers that are compatible with HTML 4.01 and Cascading Style
Sheets Level 1. These
browsers include:

Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher for Windows
·
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher for Macintosh
·
Netscape Navigator 6.0 or higher
·
Opera 6.0 or higher
·
Safari 1.0 or higher
Go to the site:
http://cmbhomeaccess.spihost.com,
and enter the username and password provided by the district.
You can change the password after the first logon
(instructions to follow), but not the username. If you are the guardian for multiple students, select a
student from the list displayed on the ‘My Students’ page. The Daily Summary for the student for the current day will be
displayed by default.
Please note that a system timeout feature is in
effect – sessions left inactive for a period of time will require
the user to re-enter the username and password.
Also note that there is a delay in information
posted to the Home Access Center - information is updated every 2
hours from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Summary
Page/Info
The Daily Summary page shows today’s
attendance, today’s schedule, and classwork for this week.
Names on the schedule are underscored,
indicating that they are linked to the teachers’ e-mail addresses
(this convention holds true for names, including counselors’
names, on other screens). Information
for days other than today is displayed by selecting the appropriate
tab at the top of the summary page:
- Schedule
– the schedule for the current year is displayed
- Attendance
– the current month’s attendance is displayed. Other months are accessible using the double arrows to
the left and right of the month.
Non-gray, colored boxes represent school days having
absence or lateness information.
Hold the cursor over the box and the details will be
displayed.
- Classwork
– the display varies depending on the class, report card run
and order selected. If
view options are changed, select ‘refresh view’ to display
according to the options selected.
- Note
that the Student Average displayed includes scores up to the
previous school day (includes assessments which are
'overdue'). Also note that scores may not have been
entered for all assessments for all students, in which case
the system may ignore the missing score or use a zero score,
depending on the options in the teacher’s gradebook
setup.
- The
message “Classwork could not be
found for this class for the selected report card run”
indicates that assessments have not been published for the
class.
- Interim
Progress – progress reports can be selected from the
predefined periods/dates. Grades,
comments, absences and tardies and displayed.
- Report
Cards – report cards can be selected from the predefined
periods/dates.
- Registration
– registration and contact information for the student is
displayed.
Ending the Session
When you have completed all inquiries, end the
session by selecting ‘Exit’ in the upper right-hand corner of
the screen. You will be
prompted to verify that you wish to exit the Home Access Center.
Changing Your Password
To change your password, select ‘My
Profile’ in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Enter your old password, then the new one, and the new one
again as confirmation (note: your password must be at least 8
characters). Then select ‘Change’.
You will receive a message that your password was changed
successfully.
