Announcements

  • The CRHS Athletic Department is planning to begin summer workouts on August 3, 2020. Please see the Colts Athletics page for the latest updates and required forms.

The Governor and Commissioner of Education have released guidelines for reopening schools in September. Part of that affords you the opportunity to have input in our procedures and practices as they relate to CRHS. We are looking for volunteers to participate in committees that will address the following areas:

    Leadership and Learning
    Conditions for Learning
    Continuity of Learning
    Policy and Funding

All the committee work will be done through email and "Zoom"-style meetings. If you are interested in having a voice, please respond to me via email - price@crhsd.org. We will include as many as possible, but do not guarantee the opportunity to include everyone.

In addition, parents are encouraged to complete our survey to offer input regarding needs and concerns related to reopening school. Please take the time to complete the survey before the submission deadline of July 10.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together through this challenging time.

    Steven W. Price
    Superintendent

Graduation Update from Superintendent Steve Price:

    Dear Graduates and Families,

First, thank you for your patience. I know this is a trying time. The last thing I wanted to do is send change after change as the Governor continued to move us forward. I believe that would have been even more frustrating than waiting for answers. Today I would like to share some answers with you.

The week of June 14-17 will be “A Week of Celebration” for the Class of 2020. We will be live streaming all the senior awards ceremonies, one per day. The dates and times for each ceremony will be posted on our website and sent to all of you via email and social media.

On June 17, 2020, we will hold a diploma pick-up in front of the school during the afternoon. Mr. Aiello will share the details as we get closer. For now, we are blocking out the time between 12:00-4:00. We will also live stream a virtual graduation ceremony on June 17th at 6:00 PM.

The Governor has announced that we can do in-person graduation ceremonies. That is what we were waiting for – you deserve it! What we are still waiting for is the number of attendees we are allowed. I will be submitting our plan for an in-person traditional graduation ceremony for July 8th (July 9th is our rain date). We will most likely have to hold two ceremonies, 5:00 and 6:30, to adhere to social distancing. Students would be split alphabetically. If our application is approved, we will send all the plans and directions to you.

While we know this is not perfect, we want to help you celebrate in any way we can. Thank you again for your patience and congratulations! I hope to see you “on the grass” on July 8th!

Sports sign-ups and physicals are now being accepted in anticipation of having a fall sports season.

For students who wish to participate in the fall season, paper physicals are required every 365 days and health history updates every 90 days prior to the start of a sports season. Paperwork will be available in the Main Office by mid-June or by downloading from our website under the Athletics tab.

In response to the current Covid-19 outbreak, school office hours are limited to 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays until further notice.

Required Athletic online forms can be found by logging into the parent portal in Genesis and clicking on the Forms tab. An electronic acknowledgement from parents is only required one time per year and is mandatory before we can allow athletic participation. If you need to create a Genesis account, please contact AnnMarie Greynolds at greynolds@crhsd.org.

We are aware that many doctors' offices are closed or have implemented limited office hours in response to the current Covid-19 outbreak. Please be aware that you can visit Inspira Urgent Care from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. for a walk-in physical for $20.

All physical paperwork should be turned in to the Main Office. A receipt will be given to you at the time of submission. Deadlines for fall participation will be updated at a later time.

Fall Cheer tryouts will be done virtually. Information for this is available on the district website under the Athletics tab.

We will continue to update our Athletics website as more information becomes available from the NJSIAA regarding high school athletics in the State of New Jersey. Please check our site weekly for any updates we may receive.

Sodexo and the Cumberland Regional School District would like to share information on the impact of food services provided to the Cumberland Regional community during the month of April. A total of 4,445 meals were served to 178 students on a daily basis / 889 students on a weekly basis. We would like to recognize with appreciation the six frontline employees and volunteers who worked to safely prepare and serve these meals. Food services will continue to be provided through the remainder of the scheduled 2019-2020 school year.

    05/04/20

    Good evening, Cumberland Regional family.

Today, Gov. Murphy declared that NJ public schools would remain closed for the rest of this school year. That means Remote Learning will continue until June 17. While we know this is not ideal, it is important for us to remain safe and healthy.

We are still waiting on instructions for end-of-year celebrations. It is our hope to hold some form of graduation for our seniors. We will keep you posted as we get word from the Governor’s Office.

We will continue to deliver instruction using the technologies already in place. We will also continue to deliver meals on Tuesdays.

Please reach out to us by email if you need anything. We are still here to help and support you during this trying time.

    Be well, and stay healthy.
    Steve Price, Superintendent

Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to review these guidelines to solidify their understanding of how we will be continuing to implement Remote Learning this year.

We would like to thank our school community for their engagement and support during this unprecedented time. Please feel free to reach out to CRHS administration or staff if you have any questions on these plans.

    4/15/20
    Good Morning, Cumberland Regional Family!

I hope you all enjoyed Spring Break. I also hope you were able to have a wonderful Easter in this strange time! Governor Murphy proclaimed last night that data proves we are on the “downside of the curve” and that our efforts of social distancing are working. The work, however, is not over. As he stated in a recent press conference, only the governor and re-open schools. I am hopeful in the fact that he has not ruled out open this year. We will wait for direction from his office.

Until then, we will continue with our present course. Work will continue to go out from the teachers. Meals will be given out on Tuesdays. And I must again urge all of our students to hand work in. Handing in your work recognizes your attendance and gives you credit for your course. Failure to hand in work jeopardizes promotion for next year whether that is moving up a grade or graduating.

Please know that we are holding off making decisions to eliminate any end-of-year activities at this point. Our hope remains that we may be able to get back before the close of this school year. We will make alternate plans if we get word that schools will be closed for the remainder of the year. Until then, stay safe and healthy – and get that work done!

Please contact us by email if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,
    Steven W Price
    Superintendent
    Cumberland Regional School District

Anyone who needs to get in contact with us at CRHS is asked to email Principal Aiello at aiello@crhsd.org instead of calling. Mr. Aiello will do his best to get back to you as soon as possible.

We at Cumberland Regional are pleased to introduce the "Keep Calm, We are COLTS" video series as a way to stay positive and unified as the CRHS school community while we are physically apart.

As Colts, we strive to embody the traits of being Caring, Optimistic, exhibiting Leadership, being a Team player, and demonstrating Self-discipline (COLTS). During this time of uncertainty, it can help us to remember and stay true to those attributes. Together, we can "Keep Calm, We are COLTS."

This video series will feature members of the Colts community sharing ways they are centering themselves and keeping themselves calm and positive despite the drastic changes to our daily schedules and ways of life. We miss seeing our fellow Colts at school, and we hope that connecting with familiar faces and voices through this series will help our students, staff, and other members of the Colts family feel reassured that we are all in this together and we can find value and empowerment in making this a time of self-reflection and growth.

We kick off this series with a message from CRHS Director of Curriculum Bonnie Powers and look forward to sharing weekly videos from our Colts community. Stay tuned for more virtual support from Colts leaders!

    3/23/20 Covid-19 Update

    From Steven W. Price, Superintendent

    To: Our Cumberland Regional Family

I hope this update finds you all healthy and safe in your homes.  I wanted to update you since Governor Murphy’s Order has slightly changed our Closure Plan.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24th, the District will only be open on Tuesdays from 8:30-11:30 AM.  Five days of Meals will be available on Tuesdays in our Grab-and-Go line from 9:00-11:00 AM for anyone who needs them.  Technology Support and Student Work Handout and Collection will be available the same time as our Meal Grab-and-Go service.  We will continue to be available by email.  If you need to reach us by phone, please call on Tuesday from 8:30-11:30 AM.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL STUDENTS COMPLETE ASSIGNED WORK WHILE THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED.  I can not stress this enough.  Attendance and credit can only to be given to students who complete their assignments.  Student who fail to complete work will be marked absent and will most likely fail their courses for this semester.  Poor attendance and failure to complete assignments will mean a loss of credits and may jeopardize graduation.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS COMPLETING THEIR WORK!

Our monthly Board of Education meeting will be held remotely through a teleconference.  Access information will be available on our Website if you would like to “attend”.

Please contact us if you have any questions or need any assistance.  We are here to help through this unprecedented time.

    Stay Safe!

The Cumberland Regional School District is organizing all information and resources specifically relevant to the school closure due to the threat of coronavirus on a subsite, accessible at www.crhsd.org/coronavirus

Members of our school community are encouraged to visit the site for useful information and resources, including CRHS information, links, and documents, and other online learning content. Questions or feedback regarding the website can be directed to Lauren Taniguchi at taniguchi@crhsd.org.

The district will be open on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to hand out meals (from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.), offer Tech Support, and handout and receive written work. All other operations and functions, except for the business office, will be handled remotely. If you have questions, please call us at 856-451-9400 or contact us via social media.

We will continue to update you as more information becomes available and hope you are faring well at home. Please contact us with any questions.

Breakfast and lunch service will be available for school days listed on the 2019-20 CRHS school calendar.

Directions: After turning on to the Staff/Student driveway, make the first right toward the Staff/Deliveries parking lots. Please follow directions from our security staff to proceed to the Food Service distribution line.

Meals are being provided through the New Jersey’s Seamless Summer Option.

    Closure Announcement: Effective March 17

With a recommendation from the county Department of Health, we, and all Cumberland County schools, will be closing school Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This will include all school-related activities. We are taking proactive measures to control exposure and try to limit the potential spread of any cases in Cumberland County. To date, there are still no confirmed cases in our county. However, we will enact our plan as of Tuesday. We tentatively plan to be closed through Spring Break, with an anticipated return on April 15. I say tentative because that date is subject to many factors that we just don't have at present.

Students will access their assignments from the teachers’ websites. If you do not have internet access, work packets will be available for pick-up. Further communications will be available on our website and through email. Student attendance will be based on their continued work on assignments. Students must complete their assignments to earn credits for this semester.

Breakfast and lunch will also be available on a weekly basis. Please click here for details.

This is an uncertain time, and we will work through it together. We will keep you informed as new information comes to us. The building will be open during our closure, so please call us with any questions.

    Steven W. Price, Superintendent
