Dear Parent or Guardian,

     My name is David Checchio and I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to let you know that I am pleased and excited to have your child in my class.  The subjects taught are History, Science, Math, Language Arts, Vocations, and Financial Literacy.  I also plan to take the class out on Community Based Instruction.

     Community-Based Instruction, or CBI, provides instruction to students in the community.  This allows students to take what they learn in the classroom and experience it in the community. The idea is to provide learning opportunities, so students can acquire the skills needed to live in today's world.  I also want to expose the students to career exploration.

      I feel that communication is important between school and home for student success.  So please let me know how often you would like to be contacted and your preferred mode of communication, such as email, a communication log, etc.   Also, if you ever have any comments, questions, or concerns, please share them with me as I would be happy to discuss any questions related to your child and their education.
