For Students taking LA2HN in the 17-18 SY
A list of the choices for freshmen students planning to take LA2HN next school yearHere is a copy of the pages from this year's summer reading packet that describe your assignment and available extra credit for the 17-18 school year. The list of titles from which to choose your summer reading is also included (and you'll find links to find out more about each title below).
All these titles connect to our novel study, which will be our 4th unit in Language Arts 2 HN. The purpose of this unit is to broaden your understanding of your own personal world and the world around you by reading literature from across the globe and from different periods of time.
You can find out more information about Unit 4 and the books currently* available here. (This will open a new window to DonorsChoose.org; this project has been fully funded -- I am NOT looking for monetary donations at this time.)
*See the extra credit opportunity in the summer reading packet pages. The more students that donate books, the MORE CHOICES there will be available for our novel unit!

Students taking Language Arts 1 HN in the spring must drop off their work in the appropriately labeled bin in the Main Office on the first day of school. Work not received at this time will be marked late. Each day your assignment is late it will lose 5 points. If the assignment is not received by the end of the first school week, you will not receive credit for the assignment.
One final note: Please complete your double-entry journals in BLUE or BLACK ink or type them using 12-point Times New Roman. DO NOT USE PENCIL.
