CRHS students volunteer with Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child
CRHS students recently volunteered with West Park Church in support of Operation Christmas Child, an initiative to provide Christmas gifts to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease, and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
As the drop-off center for Cumberland County, West Park Church received 3,500 shoeboxes of gifts. CRHS students spent a combined total of 53 hours packing the boxes into cartons for transportation, loading the cartons onto U-Hauls to be moved to a relay center, and unloading the cartons onto tractor trailers to be moved to the next stop. The students worked diligently while following the strict protocol of Operation Christmas Child, as well as COVID-19 safety guidelines.
"I am so thankful for their help as most of our regular volunteers are older church members, and we would not have been able to complete the loading process without their help," said Karen Johns, West Park Church OCC drop-off center co-chairperson.
Participating students included Anna Johns (co-chairperson), Katarina Krupa, Kael Jespersen, Renee Sheppard, Dylan Wercoch, Damien Welden, Gabriel Johnson, and Cecilia Hauserman.
