CRHS FFA beautifies Soroptimist International of Cumberland County Peace and Tranquility Garden in Bridgeton

Peace and Tranquility Garden

The Cumberland Regional FFA Chapter recently brought their agricultural skills to the Peace and Tranquility Garden in Bridgeton.
The FFA members were asked to help make improvements to the garden, which was created and dedicated by Soroptimist International of Cumberland County to bring awareness to domestic violence and to provide the community a peaceful place for reflection and meditation.

"The Soroptimist International of Cumberland County's Peace Garden was created to provide a 'soft place to land,'" said Kristin Eisenhardt, Chair of the Peace Garden Committee. "Despite our efforts, the garden has seen better days. When it was suggested we reach out to the FFA at Cumberland Regional, I jumped at the opportunity.

"As an alumni of Cumberland Regional, I love to maintain relationships with our youth in the community," Eisenhardt said. "The FFA members, along with their advisers, stepped up to the challenge. They raked leaves, weeded the garden areas, and planted more than 30 mums donated by Rottkamp Farms, along with kale and cabbage, to outline the Soroptimist 'S' pathway. The FFA members wrapped the trees in orange and purple ribbons to raise awareness for domestic violence.

"Soroptimist International of Cumberland County looks forward to continuing this budding relationship with the FFA at Cumberland Regional," she said.
