CRHS alumna Erin Sharp Newton

CRHS alumna Erin Sharp Newton recently was recognized as one of the "2019 Best 50 Women in Business" by NJBIZ. The annual award honors New Jersey's most dynamic women in business, who have shown dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement, and advocacy for women.

Erin is a project architect and behavioral health specialist at NK Architects, a full-service architectural, interior design, planning and structural engineering firm with offices in Morristown and New York City. As an advocate for human concerns in design, she serves as Vice President on the Executive Board of the Hunterdon Drug Awareness Program, is a Fellow at the Centre for Urban Design and Mental Health, is Co-chair on the Department of Health & Human Services Local Advisory Committee on Drugs and Alcohol, a Fitwel Ambassador, and serves on the Board for the Morristown Mayor's Wellness Committee, supporting solutions through design.

"As a woman in design, focused on improving the world of mental health from a design standpoint, this award is a real honor, as it highlights work focused on improving the human condition through creative intelligence," Erin said, noting that she studied technical drafting, mechanical drawing, and art at CRHS and learned a lot about hard work, perseverance, and dedication while growing up in Cumberland County.
