What is Challenge Day?
What is Challenge Day ?
Challenge Day is coming to Cumberland Regional High School!
Challenge Day is a transformational day of fun, leadership, and power that can change the way people view each other forever!
The goal of Challenge Day is to help stop the teasing, violence, and alienation that are so deeply a part of the school experience for millions of young people every day. Through a variety of fun games, trust-building activities, and engaging presentations, students will be given a unique opportunity to see themselves and the people around them through a new set of eyes!
Research shows that there are significant beneficial outcomes from social and emotional skill-building, including positive attitudes about self, school, and civic engagement. Improvements are seen in social behaviors, conduct problems and academic performance.
Challenge Day program activities are centered on the five core competency areas of Social / Emotional Learning, including: self management, social awareness, self awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.
Why Participate in Challenge Day ?
Challenge Day provides youth and their communities with experiential programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth and full expression.
All 10th grade students are invited to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience!
What will Challenge Day be like ?
Challenge Day vision is that every child lives in a world where they feel safe, loved and celebrated!
